Christian Eedes, Winemag:
“New wine. 15% whole-cluster fermentation before maturation lasting 11 months in older 225-litre barrels. Cranberry, raspberry, cassis and a subtle leafiness on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with good energy and fine tannins, uncompromisingly dry on the finish. 92/100.”

The 2023 vintage at Scions of Sinai has resulted in precise and intellectual wines of depth, finesse and purity. Bernhard is a vigneron first, and a winemaker second. Actively willing to explain and disseminate information on vine growth, cover crops and all things viticulture, he often underplays his own hand in the winery. Bernhard has been responsible for the farming of the vines since 2016, and the results are more evident in the 2023 wines than in previous vintages. The crystalline quality that has become a hallmark of Scions of Sinai wines is elevated in this vintage. The purity and persistence of the palate on these wines is extremely impressive.
